Multi-factor authentication will soon be required for all UA employees

Sept. 17, 2021

All University of Alaska employees will be required to implement multi-factor authentication for UA accounts as a step to ensure higher levels of online security.

MFA is an important security feature that will help prevent unauthorized access to our systems and sensitive data - and thus the resulting cost and disruption.

UA had previously implemented this requirement for all Banner users but has now expanded this requirement to include all employees.

UA OIT will provide additional details on when this step must be completed.
