Pinnacle and Banner 8 users: update Internet Explorer to avoid critical vulnerability
Are you a Banner 8 or Pinnacle user? Microsoft has recently addressed a serious vulnerability in the Internet Explorer web browser
in an out-of-band (not available in Windows Update) security update. This vulnerability
allows an attacker who successfully compromises the web browser to gain the same user
rights as the current user, which may include the right to install software, execute
programs, and may be able to examine existing files and folders.
The UA Security Awareness Team asks that all employees who use Banner 8 and Pinnacle to update their version of Internet Explorer.
If you are not a Banner 8 or Pinnacle user, but still use Internet Explorer, the team encourages you to migrate to a more secure and supported browser such as Chrome or Firefox.
