UA Zoom trainings for spring 2024

During the Spring 2024 semester UAF NTS Collaboration and Learning Spaces (CLS) will offer UA Zoom Trainings to anyone with UA Zoom account access. This includes any Faculty, Staff, or Student within the University of Alaska system. Have an @alaska.edu email? You probably have a Zoom account! If you are new to the University and would like to learn more about Zoom and available features, or you’re already familiar with Zoom and want to have a quick refresher or learn something new, then these sessions are for you.

Spring 2024 Zoom Training Sessions
Starting in January, CLS will offer monthly Zoom training sessions on the second Friday of each month, plus the following extra sessions during Spring semester start-up.

Please register for a time slot below that fits your schedule:

Zoom Basics This training session covers account settings, scheduling meetings, and running a meeting with security basics, as well as best host practices. Jan. 11 Thursday 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm:  Zoom Basics Jan. 16 Tuesday 9:00 am - 10:00 am:  Zoom Basics  Jan. 17 Wednesday 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Zoom Basics Jan. 18 Thursday 9:00 am - 10:00 am:  Zoom Basics Jan. 22 Monday Noon - 1:00 pm:  Zoom Basics

Zoom Advanced with AMA* This training session covers breakout rooms, advanced meeting security, and any other questions you have. (AMA* = Ask Me Anything about Zoom) Jan. 11 Thursday 9:30 am - 10:30 am:  Zoom Advanced with AMA Jan. 12 Friday (recurring) 9:30 am - 10:30 am:  Zoom Advanced with AMA Jan. 19 Friday 10:00 am - 11:00 am:  Zoom Advanced with AMA Jan. 22 Monday 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm:  Zoom Advanced with AMA

 

Once registered, join a training session by signing into UA Zoom with your UA username and password. If you have any issues, contact UAF NTS Collaboration and Learning Spaces (CLS) through the UAF NTS Helpdesk at 907-450-8300 or 800-478-8226.To take advantage of Zoom’s latest security and functionality features, remember to download the latest version of Zoom software within the Zoom client or navigate to alaska.zoom.us/download.

Weekly Drop-in Zoom Training Sessions
Have a question about Zoom? Starting Jan. 4, CLS will also offer weekly Zoom drop-in hours, via Zoom, on Tuesdays from 2:00-3:00 pm or Thursdays from 11:00 am-noon.
