May is Mental Health Awareness Month
This past year the global pandemic presented many challenges that tested our strength and resiliency
That’s why, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the University of Alaska is providing you tools to support your own mental health.
Each week in May we will highlight practical tools and resources available from Deer Oaks, our Employee Assistance Program, Premera, and others that aim to address common questions and concerns.
A great starting point in prioritizing your mental health is to take a mental health screening. It’s quick, free, and confidential. Two are provided for you below:
- Mental Health America' Mental Health Screening - https://screening.mhanational.org/screening-tools/
- The HeartMath® Institute's Personal Wellbeing Survey - https://www.heartmath.org/resources/personal-well-being-survey/?data=84
Deer Oaks provides monthly Employee Newsletters that contain helpful articles, tips and tricks, and recorded webinars on various topics. This month’s edition includes topics like building resiliency, social media, and work/life balance.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
We hope that you find these tools helpful and educational as we bring awareness to
mental health during this month.
