UA HR Welcomes Uriah Nalikak as Director of HR Services
CHRO Memry Dahl is pleased to welcome Uriah Nalikak to the HR team as of January 3. As the Director of HR Services, Uriah oversees Accounting, Payroll, Personnel, and Customer Service. Born and raised in Alaska, Uriah brings a unique blend of local insight and global expertise. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Rural Development from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, focusing on Community Business and Economic Development, and a Master of Science in Legal Studies from Cornell Law School.
With a strong background in Human Resources, Uriah has demonstrated success in lowering turnover rates and leading teams efficiently, underpinned by his extensive knowledge of compliance, employment law, and corporate governance. His experience spans human resources and business development, most recently as a member of management at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium and nearly a decade at Petro Star Inc. (Arctic Slope Regional Corporation).
Uriah aims to align HR Services with the university's mission in his new role, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. He is committed to driving strategic initiatives that enhance the workplace and support the university's diverse community. Uriah is based in Anchorage at the Bragaw Office Building and will travel monthly to Fairbanks, ensuring a solid connection with all campuses.
Outside of work, Uriah enjoys unwinding on the golf course and fishing whenever possible. Uriah looks forward to collaborating with the talented teams across the University of Alaska and is excited to contribute to the university's thriving community.
