Maritime Occupation and Support Industries Working Group
The Maritime Occupation and Support Industries Working Group, also known as the Alaska Maritime Education Consortium (AMEC) is a collaboration between the University of Alaska (UA) and the Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) to combine efforts in providing access to education and training for afloat and ashore careers that will support and strengthen the maritime workforce. Their focus is on the Marine Occupations and Support Industries (MOSI) sector listed in the Alaska Maritime Workforce Development Plan. The AMEC collaboration is staffed and supported by Maritime Works at the Alaska Safety Alliance.
