Refunds

Gifts

By making a charitable gift to the University of Alaska Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization, the donor understands that charitable donations are not refundable. Refunds will only be processed in the event of a mistake or an extreme circumstance if determined by the Foundation. If the purpose for which the gift is given cannot be fulfilled by the Foundation, the party who originally made the contribution may designate another use of the donation.

If after a reasonable search, the donor cannot be located, the Foundation will consider the donor's original intent and determine how the fund shall be used. The Foundation Board of Directors will have final authority to decide upon the use of the fund(s) in these circumstances. Individuals who receive refunds have the responsibility of correcting any tax filings they have made reflecting the refunded amount.

Event Registration

Refunds of registration fees will be given for cancellations received prior to the event unless otherwise stated. If the individual decides to not attend the event and would like the event cost to become a charitable contribution for tax purposes, the individual must notify the Foundation in writing that they will not be attending the event and that they wish to contribute the event cost as a charitable contribution. This notification must be made prior to the event.
Hotel and travel cancellations cannot be made through the University of Alaska Foundation and you must contact the hotel or travel service separately for refunds.
