Office of the President

FY2020 Operating Budget

The governor's vetos hit UA hard. We will need to take steps immediately to advocate for a legislative restoration of the vetoed funding, cut unnecessary expenses, and begin planning for the possibility that we will not receive additional funding.

  • Immediate cost reduction steps: restrictions on travel, hiring, and procurement.
  • Legislative advocacy: please go for it, consistent with university rules not to engage in partisan activity during the workday or with university resources.
  • Contingency planning: we are developing those steps over the coming couple weeks in preparation for Board of Regents' meetings on July 22 and July 30.
