Karsten Hueffer was appointed to serve as the dean of the College of Natural Science and Mathematics in June 2023.

Hueffer is a tenured professor of veterinary medicine and has served CNSM as acting/interim dean for over a year. Under his leadership the college showed a steep fiscal recovery, launched new academic programs, hired new faculty, grew enrollment, and is moving forward embracing UAF’s vision and strategic plan.
