Wei Guo has been selected to serve as the Controller for the University of Alaska. As Controller, she will serve as the UA system’s chief accounting and financial reporting officer and will have oversight of the system office budget, cash management, cost analysis, financial systems, and fund accounting. 

Since December 2012, Guo has served as the Director of Financial Accounting for the University of Alaska. In this role, she was responsible for the accurate preparation and presentation of the annual audited financial statements in conformity with standards issued by GASB; the Education Trust of Alaska’s audited financial statements in conformity with standards issued by FASB; and the schedules necessary to support the State of Alaska annual comprehensive financial report. 

In addition, Ms. Guo was responsible for facilitating communication between external auditors and various accounting and finance offices throughout the UA system; oversight of the accounting process and internal controls; implementation of new accounting standards; and the supervision of employees within the Fund Accounting department.
