Category: Safety & Security

This service provides secure socket layer (SSL) certificates for websites and applications that require them. The certs used are issued via InCommon Cert Service.

Service Users

All UA affiliates.

Any domains administered by the University of Alaska can qualify, as long as the university can prove that it is the administrative manager for that organization. The key requirement is that the university be the administrator of record for these domains and organizations.

UA affiliates who wish to take advantage of the certificate services offered must agree to the terms and conditions provided in the InCommon Certificate Service Relying Party Agreement.

Security Certificates are available at no cost to end users.

Acquiring a certificate requires that you submit a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) to the Certificate Administrator. The Certificate Manager page is available for this purpose and requires the use of an aforementioned access code to use.
