Fairbanks Outdoor Days

Fairbanks Outdoor Days will be May 3-5, 2016 on UAF campus (west ridge). The Outdoor Days program involves sixth graders from the Fairbanks North Star Borough school district in daylong outdoor educational activities. Scientists present natural resource management concepts via engaging in hands on activities. The experiences help develop a rapport with future users of our public lands, instills a sense of responsible stewardship for natural resources, fosters an understanding of basic scientific concepts, develops career awareness and spotlights the UAF campus.�

There will also be smoke jumpers on all three days between 11:00 a.m. and noon in the farm field between Tanana Loop and West Tanana Loop (below the Butrovich Building). Both roads may be closed as the jumpers get close to the ground for safety reasons. The traffic stop should only be for a few minutes at a time.

Fairbanks Outdoor Days is sponsored by U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service with UAF and UA Land Management playing supporting roles for the project.

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Fundraiser!
