Public Affairs Director Kate Ripley has accepted a position at UAF as director of Alumni Relations and executive director of the UAF Alumni Association. Her last day at the UA System Office will be Nov. 7.

In a note sent to Statewide staff, Kate said, "I've enjoyed working with so many of you these last 10 years, especially those of you in Student Services, the UA Scholars/UA College Savings Plan, Human Resources, the Board of Regents' office, the President's Office, the UA Foundation, Institutional Research, OIT, Budget and Planning, Academic Affairs/Workforce Development, Finance, Land Management, Governance, General Counsel, Risk/Emergency Management and of course, the entire University Relations staff, which includes federal and state relations, and last, but most certainly not least, my own staff here in Public Affairs (Kate, Monique and Olivia--you are great!) I've had the honor and pleasure of serving under two system presidents, two university relations vice presidents, 29 different regents and five different board chairs. It's really been an amazing time. I've learned so much from so many."

Vice President for University Relations Carla Beam intends to refill the position.
