Saying Farewell to Saltanat

Friends and co-workers gathered at Lunch Caf� Aug. 16 to thank Saltanat Schweitzer, Institutional Research & Analysis Director, for her 11 years of service to the University of Alaska. They gathered to wish her well as she begins her next adventure in Vienna, Austria.

Daniel Hostetler Accepts Position at George Washington University

OIT's Enterprise Application Services (EAS) want to wish Daniel Hostetler the best as he leaves UA for a new position at George Washington University. Hostetler worked for six years in EAS as an anlyst/programmer on the Banner Student team. He and his family are moving to Virginia where he has accepted the new position. His last day was Aug 16th. He will be missed!

Statewide Budget and Planning welcomes Eric Johnson. He comes to Statewide from UAF's Alaska Center for Energy and Power, where he was a research technician following a student internship.

Johnson is quite familiar with the university. He received a bachelor's in economics from UAF. He was a teaching assistant in economics, and term instructor for AIS 101: Effective Personal Computer Use. He is planning to finish the Resource and Applied Economics Master’s program in Fall of 2013.

Johnson was born and raised in Fairbanks. He enjoys playing hockey and the outdoors.

The Program Management Office Welcomes Jim Lembo

Jim Lembo and his colleagues in the PMO help coordinate tech projects from their inception through to close-out. Lembo personally is most involved in the Electronic Research Administration project.

Lembo worked previously at the Research Foundation for State University of New York (SUNY) for 13 years as a developer, Software QA Manager, and Project and Portfolio Specialist.

He grew up in Boston, and most recently lived in Albany, New York. His family moved to Fairbanks in January – just in time to enjoy the 47 below days.

Lembo has both a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science, 1988) and a Master of Science (Management of Technology, 2002) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York. He also was certified by the American Society for Quality as a “software quality engineer” from 2003-2012.

His wife Cheryl Frye is UAF's INBRE director. More importantly, she’s the great mom of their three children--Jeffrey, 12; Vincent, 9; and Luciana, 7.

Sheri Billiot has moved into a new role at Statewide. After working in Human Resources for the past seven years, she is now a cost analyst in Cost Analysis. Her project currently is to assist with developing a system-wide federal Facilities & Administrative (F&A) rate cost proposal. Billiot also monitor compliance with the federal Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) disclosure statement. She will develop and deliver training workshops for system-wide staff regarding advanced cost analysis issues including direct vs. indirect costing, facility functional use identification, program code application and definition. In addition, Billiot will serve as a system resource for cognizant agency audits with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) for forward pricing and final fringe benefit cost reports.

Billiot was born and raised in Fairbanks. She graduated of UAF in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in human resources management.

She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and practicing yoga.
