November 17 to 21, 2014 is College Application Week for the University of Alaska.
This is the week we hope that as many students as possible will apply to UA. College Application Week seeks to foster a strong college going culture in Alaska and to help students get started with their application process early. We’ll be sending out a poster to all schools announcing College Application Week 2014. Look for yours in the mail in late October and hang it up in your school. Contact Arthur Hussey at email@example.com if you want more.
Your work with students is critical. As a counselor you have access to students. You also have access to parents. Combined, the three parties, counselors, students and parents make the decision to apply to college. Please work with students so they apply to UA in mid-November. Applying in the spring, as some do means that some forms of financial aid might have been taken already by others.
All Alaskan-resident applicants, applying for first time admission to a certificate, bachelor’s or associate degree program at the University of Alaska between September 1, 2014 and November 21, 2014 will be entered into a drawing for one of six three-credit tuition awards good for any of UA's 16 campuses..
All applications to University of Alaska are done through the University’s portal, UAOnline, https://uaonline.alaska.edu/. Paper applications are also accepted. Students are under no obligation to attend once they apply, but applying is a good first step to starting the college process. University of Alaska staff are available to assist with applications.
