Associate General Counsel - Andy Harrington
Andy Harrington joined the office in 2014. He got his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1980. He then clerked for the late Chief Justice Rabinowitz of the Alaska Supreme Court 1980-1981, worked as an associate in the Law Offices of Charles E. Cole 1981-1982, and started with Alaska Legal Services Corporation in 1982. He became ALSC’s Fairbanks supervisor in 1996 and its Executive Director in 2002. He joined the Consumer Protection Division of the Alaska Attorney General’s Office from 2010 to 2014.
Harrington is also a UAF alumnus, as during his tenure at ALSC he earned a second bachelor’s degree in physics, and worked as an adjunct lecturer in the paralegal studies program. He has been published in the Alaska Law Review and serves on the Alaska Court System’s Appellate Rules Committee and its Access to Justice Task Force. He is admitted before Alaska state courts, the Alaska Federal District Court, the Ninth Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court and the Tlingit-Haida Tribal Court.
